A Genoa man escaped serious injuries early Sunday morning following a single vehicle alcohol related crash in rural Rochelle.
The accident took place a short time after 12:30 at the intersection of Steward and Ritchie Roads.
Reports indicate that a car driven by 24-year old Nicholas Morrissette of Genoa was traveling westbound on Ritchie Road when the car traveled off the north side of the pavement. The vehicle then struck a traffic sign before rolling over.
Morrissette refused medical treatment at the scene.
He was arrested by Rochelle police on the 2 counts of aggravated DUI along with illegal transportation of alcohol. He was also ticketed for driving on a suspended license, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Morrissette was charged with the felony offense due to his license being suspended for a prior DUI incident.
He was transported to the Ogle County jail with no bond set following the arrest. Morrissette is scheduled to appear before a judge today when that figure will be set.
