Federal workplace safety investigators have begun to look into last week's death of a Dixon man at a Rockford landfill.
54-year-old Gonzalo Trevino Sr. died last Thursday when he was buried under 80-thousand pounds of construction debris, including concrete, steel, and wood when a garbage truck tipped over.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is trying to find out what happened at the Winnebago Landfill site to cause the accident that killed Trevino as he was unloading his own garbage truck.
