34-year old Scott Young of Byron has been arrested on the felony offense of reckless homicide following an accident that took place in 2014 in which his wife was killed.
He was arrested on a warrant on Friday.
Young, formerly of Lindenwood, was traveling eastbound on Severson Road near Welden Road in rural Byron when his car left the road. His SUV entered a ditch and then struck a tree.
The accident took place on September 20th of 2014.
39-year old Jody Young was pronounced dead the next morning at a Rockford hospital from her injuries.
2 other individuals were also in the car and were treated for injuries.
Illinois State Police had arrested Young following their investigation after the crash on the charge of DUI and improper lane usage.
Ogle County State's Attorney Eric Morrow said that those charges were dismissed pending further investigation in the case.
Young posted 10 percent of the $10,000 bond last Friday and was released from jail with a court date of June 1st in Oregon.
