City officials in Rochelle met in special session yesterday evening as a "Committee of the Whole" as the discussion centered around the Emergency Operations Plan for the community.
The last update of this proposal was done in 2008. The plan the council talked about last night is currently being used by officials in Ogle and Lee counties.
Rochelle Emergency Management Coordinator Terry Inman said that several changes have been made over the past 8 years. He said that the city would follow a basic plan. There will also be around a dozen sections dealing with emergency situations.
Inman said that each department head in the city has gone over the emergency plan and their role in certain disasters. He said that the information will be updated when needed for the city.
The council took no action on the Emergency Operations Plan yesterday. That is expected to be done at a future meeting.
