Lee County authorities have arrested a Dixon woman in a death that involved a drug overdose incident last year.
35-year old Rebecca Dixon has been arrested on the charge of drug induced homicide along with delivery and possession of a controlled substance, heroin. She has pled not guilty to the charges as she remains in jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
The case involves the death of 22-year old Felicia Halstead of Dixon who overdosed on the heroin. Authorities say she was using the drug for the first time.
Another arrest is pending in the case. Dixon and another woman allegedly gave the drug to Halstead.
Dixon police say that Halstead was found unresponsive on November 11th in a home in the 700 block of Assembly Place. She was pronounced dead at KSB Hospital.
Dixon was charged with the felony after she failed to call emergency personnel after Halstead had overdosed.
The Dixon woman was the 6th death involving heroin in Lee County for 2015.
