Plans are to have the "Fairways" golf course open this spring in Rochelle when the warmer weather hits the area.
During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson said that the city and Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District continue to talk about the upcoming golf season and the facility.
Who will manage the golf course this year remains undecided. It could be the Flagg-Rochelle Park Foundation or possibly Gredco who was involved with the project last year.
Last November, park officials approved a proposal in which they would spend $75,000 each year for a 10-year period to keep the "Fairways" golf court open. The city would also pay the same amount if they approved the agreement.
Mayor Olson said there is no financial agreement at this time from the city.
The Mayor also said that they are still looking for someone to lease the former restaurant at the golf course for either a day to day operation or catering events.
