The Village of Creston will have a new seal coat program this summer which will improve the conditions of many streets in the community.
Village officials approved $55,000 of motor fuel tax money last night as they have an agreement with the Ogle County Highway Department to do the work. Board President Tom Byro said that the village had not been able to seal coat any of the streets during the past 2 years due to the cost of the project.
He said work will be done on all of the streets south of the railroad tracks. The project also includes North and Cedarholm Streets along with a portion of Main Street.
The board also approved the ordinance in the sale of 9,670 square feet of property along Depot Street to Hueber LLC.
The price tag for the land was $4,000 along with attorney fees.
The Creston board had a light agenda last night as the meeting lasted about a half hour.
