No sharp increases in the crime rate for 2015 in Ogle County, tow fund money investigation continues

The Ogle County Sheriff's Deparrtment did not see a sharp increase in any areas for 2015 when it comes to crime in the area. This includes felony cases.

There was less than a 2 percent increase in the number of arrests along with investigations.

Durng this week's program "Let The People Know", Sheriff Brian VanVickle mentioned his concerned about criminals in Rockford coming into the area and breaking the law. Last year they had 1 robbery to a business and several drug arrests involving Rockford residents.

VanVickle also said that the investigation continues by the Illinois State Police dealing with money missing from the county's towing fund. It totals around $13,000.

VanVickle said that after they gathered the information in the case, they handed it over to the Illinois State Police. It's unknown if they will recover the money missing at this time.
