Heroin remains a problem in Ogle County

A drug that remains a major concern with Ogle County officials deals with the usage of heroin by teens and adults.

The number of cases and arrests have increased by area police agencies that have gone through the Ogle County State's Attorney's office.

During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Ogle County State's Attorney Eric Morrow said that the use of heroin leads to other crimes in the area. This includes thefts and burglaries as people need money to buy the drug.

Morrow said that a problem with heroin is that it's cheaper than cocaine and that teens can purchase the drug from a number of dealers.

"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
