(Tom Winebaugh gives audit presentation to Creston board)
Residents in Creston can expect to see a change in their water bill in a couple of months.
The board plans to approve a water ordinance in March or April as part of the meter program.
Over 200 bills will be sent out to homes, duplexes, and apartment buildings. At the present time, the monthly bill is $25.50.
Board President Tom Byro said that there will be a small increase for residents in what they currently pay. The new meters will determone what each person or famly owes the village each month.
The village will be receiving a railroad safety grant from I-DOT as the money comes from the federal government. Work will be done for crossings on Main and Transet Streets. The village will pay for 10 percent of the cost of the project.
Tom Winebaugh of Rochelle gave the board the annual audit report. He said that the village had a clean document as they spent the money which was budgeted.
Byro said that they will continue to watch expenses very closely during the current fiscal year for Creston.
The village has received funds from the state recently dealing with motor fuel tax money and video gambling machines.
The new windows will also be installed this week for the water well house.
