No arrest has been made at this time following a robbery which took place Sunday evening at a grocery store in downtown Rochelle. No one suffered any injuries.
Reports indicate that a short time after 6, a white male subject entered Lupita Supermarket at 409 North Main Street and asked the employee for some change. When the cash register opened, the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and then ran from the store.
He was last seen south of 1st Avenue and Main Street.
Chief Eric Higby said that they are looking at video from the robbery and checking other leads in the case. The man did make a stop at the laundromat at Main Street and 1st Avenue for a short period of time.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40's with a grey beard and heavyset.
The individual was wearing a white hat, jeans, a black winter coat along with work boots.
