Residents in Rochelle will see additional information in the next several months dealing with the branding proposal for the community.
The Brand Leadership Team plans to hire an engineering firm in the near future for possible changes in the downtown area.
Last Spring, residents heard a proposal that included a plaza and a food market in the downtown area. There would also be an entertainment stage along with a splash pad area in the summer and an ice rink in the winter.
During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", Brand Leadership Chairperson Tricia Wagner talked about the project and additional information to the public in 2016. They have made several presentations in the past couple of months.
Rochelle City Marketing and Public Relations Manager Jenny Thompson joined Wagner on the show. She said that the downtown area will have a unique look that is different from area communities.
The Brand Leadership Team plans to come to a Rochelle City Council meeting next month and ask for funds to hire an engineering firm. This process along with raising public and private money is key for the project in 2016.
Construction may not start until 2017.
