Chicago police officer pleads not guilty in the shooting death of a teen

Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke is pleading not guilty in the shooting death of 17-year old Laquan McDonald. Van Dyke made the plea during his arraignment yesterday.

He's facing six counts of first-degree murder and one count of official misconduct after dash-cam video appeared to show Van Dyke shooting McDonald 16 times as McDonald was heading away from police while armed with a knife.

Van Dyke's attorney says it's likely a change of venue will be pursued. The former police officer's next hearing will take place January 29th.
