The Sublette Fire Station, 201 N. Richmond Street, Sublette, has been opened as a warming shelter for those without power. Residents without power are encouraged to go the Sublette Fire Station.
As of 9:30pm Monday evening, there were over 4500 ComEd customers in Lee County without electricity. ComEd is working on restoring power and is predicting power to be restored by this afternoon for those in the Sublette area.
Due to the temperatures hovering near the freezing mark, the Sublette Fire Department in cooperation with Lee County Emergency Management, opened the Sublette Fire Station as a warming center. Those needing a place to get warm are welcome at the Fire Station in Sublette. You should bring a book to read, a blanket and pillow. The shelter will remain open as long as needed.
