For many in the Midwest and Eastern United States, Christmas Day of 2015 will be remembered for being unseasonably warm.
The National Weather Service says high temperature records were either set or tied in cities from Georgia to Maine on Christmas. New York City hit a record high of 66-degrees, Portland, Maine, had a record high of 62 and Norfolk, Virginia, saw a record high temperature of 79-degrees, to name a few.
CNN reports that over 26-hundred record-high temperatures have been recorded in the US this month, and more are expected before the new year.
The high temperature was in the lower 40's yesterday in Northern Illinois.
