Rochelle park officials made no final decisions last night on a possible Dekhockey program for area residents along with a management agreement involving the "Fairways" golf course.
The Dekhockey facility would be located at Cooper Park. The outdoor rink along with lights and building would cost around $120,000. Park District Executive Director Eric Christensen said they are still working on the contract between both sides. A special park board meeting may be held next month to talk about the agreement.
Park officials also took no action last night on the union contract for the 4 employees and a possible pay raise for non-union full-time staff. The union workers have been without a contract since March 1st.
The management agreement for "Fairways" golf course would be with the Flagg Rochelle Park Foundation and Greg Query. Christensen said that attorneys for the park district and city are working on the proposal.
Park officials last month approved a proposal to spend $75,000 a year for a 10-year period to keep the golf course open. The city would also pay that amount. The council has not voted on this proposal at this time.
A hearing took place to sell $800,000 in general obligation park bonds. The money would be used for capital improvements which includes work at the Spring Lake swimming pool.
The board has also decided to reduce the deposit for building rentals from $250 to $100.
Bids from the state will go out in April for the extension of the bike path from 20th street to Beebe Drive. The project totals 1.7 miles.
