The approval of the tax levy ordinance, the Lee-Ogle enterpise zone agreement, along with the strategic plan for Rochelle tops the discussion tonight for city officials.
The council meeting begins at 7 at City Hall.
Ogle County has estimated the city's equalized assessed valuation at 237.6 million dollars for the upcoming year. The city would collect 2.2 million dollars in property taxes under the levy which is an increase of 4.9 percent from a year ago.
Applications for the new enterpise zones are due by the end of the month. The state is expected to announce the zones in September of next year.
A draft of the strategic plan for the city will be talked about along with a report on the renovation work at the Hub Theater.
The Rochelle City Council meeting is open to the public this evening.
