Donations for the Needy Families Food and Toy drive in Rochelle ends today.
Chairperson Jean Tess said they are accepting donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items.
They will also take any new toys or children's books along with cash donations or gift certificates to local stores. They will use the money to purchase meat, dairy, fresh fruits and vegetbles.
The donations can be dropped off at the Rochelle Fire Department between 9 and 5 today.
Tess said that they have around 100 families for the holiday season.
The food and toys will be sorted and packed this week. They will be delivered to area homes Thursday evening and Saturday morning.
The deliveries will be done by off-duty firemen and RTHS students.
