A Rochelle man escaped serious injuries yesterday afternoon after being struck by a semi-truck while riding his bike.
The accident took place a short time before 2 in the 11 hundred block of Lincoln Highway.
Reports indicate that a bike ridden by 40-year old Chad Jonnlin of Rochelle was traveling southbound on Lincoln Highway when he struck the driver's front side of the semi-truck driven by 51-year old Andrew Hinspeter of Erie, Pennsylvania who had just pulled out of a parking lot area.
Jonnlin refeused medical treatment at the scene from Rochelle Fire Department personnel.
Hinspeter, who was not hurt, received a ticket for failure to yield from a drive.
