Following several months of negotiations, village officials in Creston have sold the 9,670 square feet of property along Depot Street to Hueber LLC.
The board last night approved the price of $4,000 for the land along with attorney fees. Board President Tom Byro said that the village has no plans to use this property in the future.
The board also felt that the land was appraised too high. The figures came in a $11,000 for industrial use and $9,000 if zoned for residential in the future.
The tax levy ordinance was approved. The number increased by just under 5 percent.
The village will see a slight increase in their insurance coverage for the next year. The premiums went up by around $150.
The village also plans to do some work on the water well pump building. Byro said that new windows are needed for better insulation in the cold weather.
