The Rochelle Township High School board met in special session yesterday evening as the discussion centered around the new fiscal year tax levy for the district.
The county's projections are for the EAV to total 396 million dollars which is a 27 million dollar increase from a year ago. That's nearly a 7 percent increase with a tax rate of $2.53.
Superintendent Jamie Craven believes that after the tax appeals are completed in front of the Ogle County board of review, the EAV will be around 374 million dollars.
He expects the tax levy increase to be around 3 percent and the tax rate would increase by 2 to 4 cents
The RTHS board adopted the resolution last night dealing with the county figures. They will hold a public hearing prior to the board meeting on December 21st before the final numbers are approved..
