A huge Black Friday demonstration is planned today in downtown Chicago. It will consist of those protesting the deadly police shooting of Laquan McDonald. A video was released on Tuesday showing Officer Jason Van Dyke releasing 16 shots on the 17-year-old victim, killing him. The so-called "march for justice" is scheduled to get underway at 11 a.m. on Michigan Avenue.
Demonstrators are calling for an independent investigation into the October 2014 shooting. They're questioning why it took so long for the video to be released to the public. The group also is seeking the resignations of Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy and Cook County States Attorney Anita Alvarez.
