The Ogle County board approved the new fiscal year budget and appropriation last night during their monthly meeting in Oregon.
The county will have a General Fund with revenue and expenditures at 14.1 million dollars.
The appropriation totals 37.2 million dollars.
Board Chairman Kim Gouker of Byron said that they will have to watch expenses close over the next 12 months.
Gouker said that Ogle County could lose over a million dollars with the reduction of income tax funds from the state.
An agreement has been reached between Rochelle Community Hospital and the county for the purchase of the building at 510 Lincoln Highway. The sale price was $190,000.
The county currently has their emergency response center in the basement of the building. They plan to move the health department and probation employees into the facility. They currently have offices in Rochelle.
Demolition work has started on the former sheriff's administration building in Oregon. Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said that about half of the work has been completed. Once the building is down, they will use the area as a parking lot. Gravel will be placed down for the winter months and paving scheduled for the spring of 2017.
New outdoor lighting for the Ogle County courthouse and the Judicial Center will cost 66 hundred dollars. The 6-year employment agreement for the position of county engineer was also approved.
Appointments last night included Dorothy Bowers, Elizabeth Mendeloff, and Bryan Zobeck to the Board of Health along with Nick Head to the Mental Health 708 board.
