The possibility of a consolidation feasibility study being completed dealing with school districts in the Rochelle area remains unknown at this time.
The Rochelle elementary district along with the Eswood district have agreed to participate in the study. Eswood officials are not in favor of consolidation at this time.
Creston and Steward school districts have decline to participate in the study while the boards at RTHS and Kings have yet to vote on the issue.
Newstalk 1060 asked Rochelle Elementary Superintendent Todd Prusator how many districts are needed for the study. He said the more they have, the better information they will receive if they do the study.
The board approved a resolution for the possibility of Ogle County having their own enterprise zone. This would be for new industries and commercial businesses in the area or any new additions for a current company.
The application to the state would include Rochelle and Dixon along with Ogle and Lee Counties. The current enterprise zone expires on December 31st, 2016.
A total of 12 enterprise zones will be awarded in Illinois next year. The announcement is expected in September.
The tax levy for the school district was introduced last night. Prusator said that there will not be a large tax increase for area residents.
A public hearing will be held next month prior to the final numbers being approved on the tax levy for the district.
