City officials in Rochelle last night approved a resolution urging Illinois lawmakers to release non-general fund revenues payable to local governments. This issue deals with the lack of a current state budget.
Mayor Chet Olson said that cities and villages in Illinois are passing this resolution and send it to Springfield. It's been 5 months since communities received their monday from the state.
Governor Rauner said recently that he does not expect a budget to be approved by lawmakers until sometime in January. The delay would be 8 months for cities in Illinois for their state funds.
The council heard the audit presentation last night. The city has just under 173 million dollars in total assets.
A tavern license was approved for Rochelle Tobacco. Mayor Olson said that they needed the license so they could have video gambling machines.
Rochelle Tobacco plans to sell beer and wine. They will not have any package sales.
The 5-year agreement between the park district and Flagg Township museum was approved along with the risk insurance proposal. The city will see an increase of 3.1 percent in premiums compared to this year.
