An Ogle County judge set bond at $50,000 yesterday for a Rochelle man following an arrest on drug charges Wednesday night.
25-year old Jessie Thornton has been charged with the felony offense of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, heroin, along with possession of a hypodermic needle and drug paraphernalia.
Thornton was also wanted on 2 Ogle County warrants for the original charges of assault and failure to appear in court for the offense of domestic battery.
He was taken into custody by Rochelle police during a traffic stop.
Thornton remains in jail in lieu of bond. He returns to court later today in Oregon on the charges.
