The Rochelle elementary school district has been named a $25,000 grant recipient for the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education program, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, and will be celebrating with a check-presentation ceremony on Friday at the Rochelle Middle School.
The district plans to use the grant to partner with local farmers and allow students to follow a crop for one year, tracking the seed from planting through harvest, processing, transport and consumption. This will have a significant impact on the students and your community.
Representatives from the school and from Monsanto will be in attendance at the event and local farmers who nominated the school for the grant will also be invited to attend.
