Rochelle City Engineer Sam Tesreau has announced that 2nd Street, from 8th Ave north to the Countryside Village entrance, will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday morning at 7. In addition, 3rd Street, from 8th Ave north for approximately 300 feet, will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday at 7am. Residents along the affected section will have limited access to driveways. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route and avoid the area if possible.
All other through traffic will be detoured as follows:
Northbound through traffic will be detoured from 2nd and 3rd Streets, west along 8th Avenue to Main Street, north along Main Street to 10th Avenue, east on 10th Avenue to 2nd and 3rd Streets.
Southbound through traffic will be detoured from 2nd and 3rd Streets, west along 10th Avenue to Main Street, south along Main Street to 8th Avenue, east along 8th Avenue to 2nd and 3rd Streets.
Work is expected to be complete by November 6th and is subject to weather.
