It's almost time to turn back the clocks. Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday morning, meaning most of the country will have to set their clocks an hour back at 2:00 am. The jump back will actually mean that folks' weekends will be a little longer as Sunday gains an extra hour.
The twice-yearly ritual of adjusting our clocks dates back to a suggestion made by Benjamin Franklin back in 1784 in order to take better advantage of the daylight hours. For years, the start and end dates for Daylight Saving Time varied from state to state and even city to city. That was until 1966 when it was standardized with the signing of the Uniform Time Act. The only two states in the country that don't observe Daylight Saving Time are Arizona and Hawaii.
