Hope of Ogle County has seen an increase in the number of domestic violent cases this fiscal year compared to numbers a year ago.
The organization has offices in both Rochelle and Oregon. They also have an emergency shelter for families at their Rochelle facility.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", Hope Executive Director Ruth Carter talked about the increase in cases. They had over 4,000 hot line calls along with 66 adults and 87 children using their shelter faciity.
Hope of Ogle County also had nearly 69 hundred service hours for their clients.
Board Vice President Debbie Katzman joined Carter on the program this week.
At the present time, Hope of Ogle County is still waiting for state funds due to the lack of a budget. Carter said they may have to reduce services in the future if lawmakers can not reach an agreement. That decision is expected to be made the 1st part of February.
Hope of Ogle County plans to hold a fund raising event at Rochelle City Hall on November 12th at 4pm. You can also donate money at hopedv.org.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
Next week's guest will be Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District Executive Director Eric Christensen.
