Due to the lack of a state budget, many orgnaizations in Illinois that provide services are looking at cuts in the near future.
During yesterday's program "Let The People Know", we talked about the program involving Hope of Ogle County who helps area residents in domestic violent situations. Executive Director Ruth Carter said that HOPE is feeling budget problems due to the lack of state money.
Carter said if things remain the same in Springfield, some services may have to be reduced by February of next year.
She said their Thrift Shop in downtown Rochelle has helped in bringing in additional revenue for the programs.
Hope of Ogle County plans to have a fund raiser on November 12th at 4pm. The event will take place at City Hall in Rochelle with several guest speakers. Area residents can also donate money to hopedv.org.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
