The Rochelle City Council met for a short period of time last night with only a couple of items on the agenda.
In a 7-0 vote, they approved the purchase of 6 skid load generators at a cost of 3.3 million dollars dealing with Phase II for RMU.
City Manager David Plyman said that the generators will be used only during peak hours in the summer time. They will be in operation only a few hours a year.
The city will continue to lease the house near the Municipal Airport along Illinois 251 South. The monthly rent is $650. The tenant will also pay for all utilities that includes gas, electricity, water, sewer, phone service, and garbage pick-ups.
It was also mentioned last night that this will be the final week for Airport Manager Danny Keller. He has found a new job at a business in Rochelle.
