The recovery process continues for families that suffered damage to their homes or property from the April 9th tornado that hit rural Rochelle.
The Ogle County Long Term Recovery Committee continues to help area residents. There were a total of 76 cases for the group following the tornado.
Chairman Cal Jacobs from Rochelle talked about the recovery process during yesterday's program "Let The People Know". He said some families have rebuilt their home while others still need to repair the structure.
He also talked about the delays for some families. They included the hiring of workers to do the project along with delays involving their insurance company.
Rochelle police detective and Emergency Management Coordinator Terry Inman joined Jacobs on the show. A committee met for the 1st time in Rochelle yesterday dealing with department heads and their roles in case of an emergency in the community.
The emergency operations plan is expected to be completed for the city council by the end of January.
Inman also wants area residents to see the plan in case their is a disaster in the community in the future.
