A feasibility study is scheduled to be done in the near future for a new detention facility in Ogle County. The cost will not exceed $10,000.

The study will include needs for the county along with staff and transportation of prisoners.

How bad is the current jail. Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle said they spend about 40 hours a week for maintenance work in the building. The jail was built in the 1960's.

The current detention facility can hold 110 prisoners.

The county board approved the bid of $97,115 for the demolition of the former Sheriff's Administration building in Oregon which should be completed by January.

Parking lot upgrades on 6 lots will have a price tag of $339,848. This includes the parking lot at Focus House in rural Rochelle.

Following an executive session, the board plans to offer Rochelle Community Hospital $190,000 for their building at 510 Lincoln Highway in the Hub City. Board Chairman Kim Gouker of Byron said they plan to move the Probation and Health Departments ofices now in Rochelle into the building.

Ogle County currently has their emergency operations center in the basement.

The Ogle County board will meet in special session Monday at 5:30 in Oregon as they hold a budget hearing for the next fiscal year.
