The United Auto Workers union says it's reached a deal with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to avoid strikes at the carmaker's plants. UAW announced the tentative contract agreement just as the midnight deadline expired. Last month, union members voted down a tentative agreement because of issues about the contract's clarity and wage scale.
The agreement would involve workers at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere.
