2 area men have been arrested following a fatal shooting during a drug deal that took place Tuesday in DeKalb.
23-year old Matthew Clark of DeKalb died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
DeKalb Police have arrested 25-year old Christopher Gerken of Sycamore and 25-year old Trevor Motsinger of DeKalb on the felony offense of first degree murder. Motsinger was also charged with obstruction of justice and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Police say that Motsinger arranged the drug deal between Clark and Gerken. He knew that Gerken had planned to rob Clark because he was upset about a prior drug sale.
Gerken came to the meeting armed with a handgun.
Police arrested Gerken yesterday morning following a high speed car chase that included Peace Road and I-88.
His car was finally stopped on Route 38 and Route 47 in Elburn.
