A Rochelle man was back in Ogle County court Friday for an arraignment after shots were fired from a handgun last Sunday morning in the Hub City. No one suffered any injuries.
21-year old Mario Pineda has been arrested on the Class 4 felony offense of reckless discharge of a firearm and the misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
The arrest stems from a domestic incident in the 600 block of South 2nd Street. Pineda allegedly struck a woman in the face. The victim did not need any medical treatment.
Later that morning, the female victim along with her brother came to the home on South 2nd Street to confront Pineda about the altercation. He allegedly fired 2 shots from a handgun into the ground outside the residence during the confrontation.
In court yesterday, the judge reduced the bond from $30,000 to $5,000 for Pineda. He was able to post 10 percent of that figure, or $500, and was released from jail.
Pineda returns to court on November 9th for a hearing in Oregon.
