Rochelle police are investigating an armed robbery reported to them last night in the Hub City.
No one suffered an injuries.
The incident took place a short time after 9 near Sunnymeade Drive and Short Court.
Reports indicate that a car with 2 black male subjects stopped near a group of individuals walking. The 2 got out of the car and allegedly demanded a watch, money, and a cell phone from 1 of the individuals in the group. A handgun was allegedly pointed at the victim.
The 2 men then left the scene with a woman driving the car.
Police got a description of the vehicle which was later stopped by NIU Police in Dekalb.
Rochelle Police Chief Eric Higby said that 1 of the black male subjects and the woman were in custody for a period of time. They have since been released with no charges at this time.
Higby said they plan to get a search warrant and look for evidence in the car they were traveling in.
The armed robbery remains under investigation by Rochelle police.
