The "Vote for Vic" campaign starts today as the Rochelle elementary school district tries to become 1 of 6 winners of an educational grant of $100,000 from Farmers Insurance.
Rochelle Middle School teacher and RTHS football and track coach Vic Worthington is 1 of 15 teachers nationwide competing for the grant. He is the only instructor from Illinois who is part of this program.
The money would go to the students in the Full Steam programs that deals with science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
The voting will take place the entire month of October online. You can vote through thankamericasteachers.com.
Final results of the voting will be announced in December.
Worthington has also received 2 grants from Monsanto for programs at the Middle School.
