A Rochelle man has been arrested after shots were fired from a handgun early yesterday morning. No one suffered any injuries.
21-year old Mario Pineda has been arrested on the charge of reckless discharge of a weapon and domestic battery.
The arrest came about following a domestic incident in the 600 block of South 2nd Street. Pineda allegedly struck a woman in the face. The victim did not need any medical treatment.
A short time after the incident, the female victim along with her brother came back to the residence on South 2nd Street to confront Pineda about the altercation.
Police say that Pineda fired 2 shots into the ground outside the home during the
confrontation.
Pineda was transported to the Ogle County jail without bond following the arrest. He will appear before an Ogle County judge this afternoon in Oregon.
