Ogle County Sheriff's Police continue to investigate a single vehicle crash Friday evening that killed a 22-year old Belvidere man.
The accident took place in the 5,000 block of South Route 2 in rural Oregon.
Reports indicate that the Belvidere man had just passed another vehicle southbound and lost control of his car. The vehicle left the highway and struck a tree.
The driver was later pronounded dead at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
Sheriff's police say that there were no signs of alcohol from the incident and that the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
The name of the Belvidere man has not been released at this time by Ogle County officials.
2 Leaf River teens suffered injuries yesterday evening after they crashed the car they were traveling in.
The accident took place a short time after 5:30 in the 3,000 block of West Pond Road in rural Byron.
Reports indicate that 19-year old Curtis Rucker was traveling westbound in a sports utility vehicle when he lost control of the car on the gravel road rounding a curve.
The SUV traveled into the north ditch where it rolled over at least once and then back on the gravel road where is came to rest on its roof.
Rucker along with a passenger in the vehicle, 19-year old Mason Kernell of Leaf River, were transported by ambulance to Rockford hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Rucker was also ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Members from the Leaf River Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
2 Rochelle residents escaped serious injuries Saturday following a single vehicle crash in Ogle County.
The accident took place in the 4,000 block of North Mulford Road.
A car driven by 20-year old Besim Ajuazi was traveling northbound when the vehicle entered the east ditch.
The car then struck a culvert and overturned on its side.
Ajuazi and a passenger in the car, 18-year old Emir Fejzoski of Rochelle, were not hurt in the crash. Ajuazi did receive tickets for improper lane usage and driving too fast for conditions from Ogle County Sheriff's Police.
