A sanitary sewer project along with the renaming of Rochelle Railroad Park tops the agenda tonight for city officials in Rochelle.
The council meeting begins at 7.
The sanitary sewer work starts on Veteran's Parkway and ends at the first manhole along South Main Street. The bid came in at just over $941,000.
The sewer line is over 55 years old and needs to be replaced due to excessive corrosion.
The Gredco board has recommended to city officials that the Rochelle Railroad Park should be named after Ken Wise.
Ken is the former director for Gredco and it was his idea to have the park in 1998 at 124 North 9th Street.
Thousands of visitors from around the U.S and other countries have visited the facility to watch the trains from 2 railroads cross.
The new name would be the Ken Wise Rochelle Railroad Park.
Tonight's Rochelle City Council meeting is open to the public.
