2nd arrest made in Lee County drug case

Lee County Sheriff's Police have made a 2nd arrest in connection with marijuana being grown in a field and at a home in the village of Steward.

50-year old Shelley Ann Creel has been charged with the felony offense of unlawful possession of 500 to 2,000 grams of cannabis with the intent to delivery, possession of marijuana, and production of the plants. She was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon without a FOID card.

Creel is the mother of 23-year old Taylor Myler who was arrested by Lee County Sheriff's Police this week.

Sheriff's police along with Dixon officers found more than 70 cannabis plants growing in the basement of the home where Creel and Myler lived. They also seized a shot gun at the residence.

A large patch of marijuana was also found in the middle of a cornfield in the 31 hundred block of Reynolds Road.

Bond has been set at $50,000 for Creel. Myler has a $75,000 bond.
