The Board of Trustees at Rock Valley College in Rockford ratified the new 5-year contract with the teachers last night.
The staff returned to their classrooms on Tuesday following a 6-day strike. The union approved the new contract on Monday.
Key issues during negotiations included money and cost of health insurance. The college will spend 3.7 million dollars in salary increases during the 5 years of the contract.
Health insurance coverage also increases for the teachers.
160 staff members belong to the union. The former contract expired in June.
