Area residents are reminded that the 2 Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad crossings on Flagg Road, east of Center Road, in Flagg Center will be closed today.
The crossings will be closed for traffic at 7 this morning.
The project includes reconstruction of the railraod crossings along with new flashing lights and gate warning devices.
Excavation will also be performed in the area along with curb and gutter being installed and concrete medians and asphalt work.
Area residents will not be able to use Flagg Road in this area for 2 weeks due to the construction project.
Ogle County Engineer Curtis Cook said that signs will be posted in the area to help motorists in using an alternative route off Flagg Road.
Road work in Flagg Center this summer has a price tag of 3.3 million dollars.
