Ogle County officials opened up the 4 bids yesterday for demolition work this fall on the former Sheriff's Administration building in Oregon.
The low bid came in at $96,615 which is under budget from the estimated cost of the project. Ogle County will pay $76,615 for the work which will be done over a 60 day period.
As mentioned earlier this week, it will take 4 to 6 weeks for Nicor gas to complete their work in the building.
Sheriff Brian VanVickle said that the plans are to have a hard surface by this winter dealing with parking that will be used for the Public Safety Complex in Oregon.
Area Swat teams along with fire departments also plan to have training sessions in the building until the demolition work begins.
