Laura Cook of rural Oregon has announced her candidacy for Ogle County Clerk and Recorder on the Republican ballot for the March 15th Primary Election.
Cook has been the Chief Deputy Clerk for Ogle County for more than 17 years. She served under former Clerk Jean Wolfe and current and retiring Clerk Becky Huntley.
Cook is also an active community volunteer serving as youth sports coach, Girls Scout leader, and Sunday school helper.
She is the 2nd person to announce her candidacy for Ogle County Clerk and Recorder. Tiffany O'Brien of rural Chana will also be on the Republican ballot. She has worked in the clerk's office for the past 11 years.
Huntley announced her retirement in August. She has held the position for the past 18 years.
Huntley's last day is on March 18th of 2016.
