A Memorial Service has been scheduled for a 17-year old Stillman Valley High School girl after she was killed last Friday afternoon in a car vs pick-up truck crash just south of Davis Junction.
The service for Emily Fleming will be held on Thursday evening at 6 at the high school. There will also be a visitation for the teen from 3 until 8 on Wednesday at Kishwaukee Church in Stillman Valley.
Fleming along with 2 other girls, all cheerleaders at Stillman Valley High School, were in a car when the accident took place at the intersection of Illinois 251 and Big Mound Road.
64-year old Andy Conderman of Amboy was driving the pick-up truck southbound on Illinois 251 prior to the collision. The truck caught on fire in a field off the highway as Conderman was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of this time, Ogle County officials have not announced a positive identification of Conderman. Family members have confirmed his death.
The 2 other girls in the car received treatment for non-life threatening injuries at a Rockford Hospital.
Reports indicate that the car failed to stop on Big Mound Road prior to the crash.
Flowers along with a memorial cross have been placed at the site of the accident for Emily Fleming along with Andy Conderman.
Counselors will be at Stillman valley High School today to help students and staff.
All sporting events have been postponed until after the Memorial Service for Fleming. The 3 scheduled board meetings for officials in the Meridian School District this week have also been postponed and will be rescheduled at a future date.
