Creston board meeting

Village officials in Creston approved a proposal last night to go out for bids for their farm property along Route 38. The land totals 144.6 acres near the water tower which is currently farmed by Tom Hill.

Board President Tom Byro believes they will receive several bids for the farm land.

Bid packages can be picked up at the Creston Village Hall building starting on September 15th. The deadline to turn in the bid is 6pm on October 6th.

Village officials will open the bids during their board meeting that evening.

Creston receives around $60,000 a year in leasing the property.

The village plans to donated $1,900 to the Creston Booster Club for their fireworks show this fall during Creston Booster Days. The figure is $100 more than last year.

Residents in Creston may have seen some improvements recently on several streets in the village. Byro said patched work was done last week and they hope some seal coating will be put on the streets next spring.

The village can use motor fuel tax money on the seal coat project.

The board also received a report on the Creston Commons subdivision. Work is being done on the drainage, water leaks, along with landscaping under the agreement between the developer and the village.
