Negotiations continue between city officials in Rochelle and Comcast dealing with a new franchise agreement.
The 5-year original contract expired on March 23rd of this year, but both the city and Comcast officials have extended the deal until a new agreement is reached.
During this week's program "Let The People Know", Rochelle Mayor Chet Olson said that 1 of the big issues still remains the Chicago stations for newscasts.
City officials have given Comcast a proposal they would like to see in the new franchise agreement.
Olson also mentioned during the show that the "Branding" proposal for the city will be talked about next month. He said not much has been mentioned about the proposal since the public meeting at the high school last May dealing with a possible downtown plaza and public market.
Olson stressed that the public needs to be kept informed about the project in the future.
"Let The People Know" is heard on Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 on Newstalk 1060 and rebroadcast Saturday morning at 6 on Newstalk 1060 and Sunday morning at 6 on "The Coyote".
Next week's guest will be Ogle County State's Attorney Eric Morrow.
